Privacy policy
A plain-language account of what the current VideoUpscaler build processes, what stays on your device and which operator details still need confirmation before public indexing.
Last updated: August 18, 2026
1. Scope
This policy applies to videoupscaler.dev and the browser-based video upscaling experience. It does not cover third-party websites linked from the service.
2. Your video files
The current 2× workflow processes supported MP4/H.264 files locally in a compatible desktop browser. The selected video is not sent to a video-processing server for upscaling. Website delivery and optional, consented analytics remain separate network activity.
We do not use selected videos to train models, sell them or make them available to other users. If a future cloud-processing option is introduced, this policy and the interface must explain the transfer, storage location and retention period before a file is uploaded.
3. Information the website may process
- Service requests: standard request information needed to deliver and secure a website, such as timestamps, browser information and network identifiers handled by the hosting provider.
- Analytics, only after consent: page context, device/browser attributes and product interaction events used to understand whether the workflow works. The current integrations are PostHog and Google Analytics 4; neither is loaded until analytics consent is granted. Video names, video contents and raw processing error messages are excluded from analytics events.
- Consent preference: a local browser value that remembers whether optional analytics were accepted or declined.
- Information you send us: messages and attachments you choose to provide when contacting support.
4. Why we use information
We use the minimum information reasonably needed to deliver the website, protect it from abuse, respond to requests and—when you consent—measure product reliability and improve the user journey. We do not sell personal information or use third-party advertising cookies in the current build.
5. Service providers and transfers
Hosting, security and consented analytics providers may process limited information on our behalf. A production version of this policy must name the contracted operator, hosting region, subprocessors and applicable transfer safeguards after those arrangements are finalized.
6. Retention and security
Locally selected video files are not intended to be retained by the service. Operational logs, support messages and consented analytics should be retained only for documented periods appropriate to their purpose. No system can promise absolute security; the production launch checklist must include access controls, incident response and a verified deletion schedule.
7. Your choices and rights
You can decline optional analytics without losing access to the core website and can reopen Cookie settings from the footer. Depending on where you live, you may also have rights to access, correct, delete, restrict or object to processing of personal information.
8. Children and changes
The service is not directed to children under the minimum digital consent age that applies where they live. We may revise this policy as the product changes and will update the date above when we do.
9. Contact
The legal operator name, registered address and privacy-request email are launch blockers and will be added here before the site is made publicly indexable.
